When Failure Happens

Being a Nigeria means a lot of things, one of them is saying "failure is not my portion, success is mine, I shall be the head and not the tail" and so on. While this declarations are good considering Nigerians are religious people and it is also good for positive mindset they are really not too realistic because failure do happen and it is sometimes the best thing to happen at the time.

What should I do when I fail

Failing a test or exam, not securing a job, not being able to meet a target at work, not getting admission for a program, or even running down a business are all examples of failure. Though Failing is normally said in regards to students and examination, it cuts across every areas of life.

People say failure is the opposite or lack of success but I feel a better definition will be failure is the stepping stone to success. We have read and seen stories of great people like Oprah Winfrey, Thomas Edison who had to fail multiple times before becoming great. So the question is what should I do when failure eventually comes?

Remain Humble - Failure is really demoralizing and can affect our ego but instead of being bitter or not listening to anyone, you should remain humble, try to talk to someone, ask questions, learn from others who have gone through what you are going through.

Re-strategise - After failing, you should change your strategy in accomplishing that goal, since the previous method did not work, the right thing to do is to try a new method. So if you did not pass that exam, you can change your reading method or reading partners or even your reading time. You should just keep trying new ways till you find the right one for you.

Gain Experience and Wisdom - It is said that experience is the best teacher, for everytime you fail, you gain experience and wisdom on how not to do something, this can help you in the future and you can also pass down this new found wisdom to others.

When failure happens

Build Resilence - never giving up till you achieve that set goal is the most important thing to do. So when you fail, you keep trying and trying over and over again. This will make you stronger and tougher to be able to face challenges that might come your way.

FINAL THOUGHT

Failure is very painful but can also be what you need to get out of your comfort zone and become that great person that you are destined to be and remember that no matter what you do or how careful you are, you will still have to face failure. So When failure happens, don't stay too long feeling bad or sorry for yourself, pick up your boots and start working.

Being late is one very bad habit that is mostly overlooked by so many people, when you go late to a meeting or job interview for instance, it shows that you are indisciplined, disorganized, untrustworthy and disrespectful to the people you are keeping waiting. For some people, it is a one time thing and they feel bad about it, for others it is something they are struggling with and they are trying to change and of cause there are some who have accepted it as their nature and think they can't stop. WHAT REALLY IS LOVE?

What really is love??? Love love love... this is a four letter word that is said everyday in different circumstances: the mother speaking to her son, the love struck young boy to his partner, the guest speaker to his listeners, the preacher speaking about God. Everyone actually have a definition of love.. but really, what is love or better still what should love be? Dictionary will tell us that love is having deep affection for someone, but love is much more than just these complex grammars, love is more than just the feelings, but is much in the act, love is not about the saying but in the doing. Love is commitment...holding on ... never giving up... not looking back... still believing...not faltering...  Love is pain... enduring... tolerating... accepting...forgiving... Love is sacrifice... giving it all... not holding back... not expecting returns... Love comes with a price...a price paid by the giver not the receiver....going against the natural order of law... Love is forgiving
